La Posada del Marques Information

Baul is a small district of only 200 or so inhabitants, conveniently situated only 2kms from a direct access to the Autovia A 92. It forms part of the larger municipality of Baza, 15kms away, an important centre of some 20,000 inhabitants and possessing all the amenities you would expect of a town of this size and importance - supermarkets, hospital, restaurants etc. The well-known larger regional town of Guadix, famed for its crafts and cave dwellers, is only 25 kms down the motorway.

Baul itself is an interesting, out-of-the ordinary place to live, whether permanently or simply as a holiday location, if your priorities are privacy, tranquility and a high quality of life.

In the immediate surroundings you find places of great interest such as Galera, the Baza Natural Park, the villages of Cuevas del Campo, Castril... where you can enjoy fishing and hunting. The facilities at the lovely Negratin Lake include a natural beach and a landing stage/jetty for boating enthusiasts. All of this set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and the famous thermal baths of Alicun de las Torres are also to be found close to Baul.

In the slightly wider context Granada airport is no more than an hour away (Almeria airport a few minutes more, as are the beaches.)

From a business point of view Baul is ideally positioned as plans are well under way for large-scale expansion into the area, not least in the form of significant commercial estates in both Baza and Guadix involving major enterprises.
